Photo at left was taken on descent into Cairo Airport during February 1974. Photograph in middle is of the U.N. camp at the race track in Cairo, Egypt in January 1974. This northwest corner of Cairo named Heliopolis and allowed easy access to the airport about 10 minutes away. The Canadian name for this area was Camp Shams. During March/April the camp was decreased in size as the units were assigned to different tasks and 116 ATU moved to the airport at Ismailia close to the Suez canal.
